Giro d'Italia in Arnhem
On Sunday, May 8, my father and I ventured out to Arnhem to see the third stage of the Giro d'Italia, which began in Holland this year. My father is an avid cyclist and even raced semi-professionally for years in Colorado. Currently he is training for the Leadville Trail 100, a 100 mile mountain bike race in Colorado (he's crazy!)
The weather was sunny and warm, it was just the two of us and we we able to get right near the finish line. The cyclists whizzed by so quickly you could barely see a thing but the energy was amazing. As a kid we used to spend weekends picnicking at my Dad's races so being at a bike race is pleasant and nostalgic for me.
