Keep your eyes up

I am here to see and do everything that I can!  I hope you enjoy!

A bit of Den Haag

A bit of Den Haag

Living in Wassenaar, just outside of Den Haag, I was there frequently.  A quick 20 minute bus ride or bike ride of roughly the same amount of time would get me into the city center.  If the weather was nice or I was headed to Scheveningen I would ride through the dunes in Meijendel.  Somehow, Den Haag didn't really charm me, though I did have fun there, it just wasn't my favorite.

That said, there were a few places that I frequented.  Usually if I was in Den Haag I would be somewhere near Grote Markt or the plein.  Va Voom always played good music and served hearty G&T's.  Hoppzakk is a chill little jazz bar underground with a great beer selection and I could often be found at Cremers, where I met so many awesome people.

My Dutch course was in Den Haag, pretty far from where I lived and had people from all over the world.  Honestly, it was a highlight of my time there.  Meeting these people all from different countries that were so sweet and interesting was really a pleasure.  We all learned Dutch together, but it was so cool to learn about where everyone was from.  As holidays were celebrated in their home countries we would all learn about it over coffee during our break.

Oh, I do miss it.
