As a happily relocated foreigner myself, I would love to share some of the tips that I have for acclimating to the Netherlands while introducing you to some of the key historic and social things to know!

Experience the historic center of Amsterdam including the Canal Belt, Jordaan neighborhood, Dam Square and more. Get a taste of the history and culture of the capital city in this three hour tour.
On the tour we will start at Amsterdam Central Station, then weave through the oldest part of the city surrounding Dam square including the Jordaan district, canal belt ring, Anne Frank house, Begijnhof, and maybe even a taste of the Red Light District all while discussing the fascinating history of this emblematically liberal, yet practical city.

Since being rebuilt following a devastating bombing in World War II, Rotterdam has become a haven of creativity which is demonstrated in its funky collection of shops, galleries and clubs. The biggest example of Rotterdam’s uniqueness is its stunning architecture and connections to the world via the Maas river and Europoort.
The Ruudterdam Tour is named after one of my best friends in Rotterdam and The Netherlands. Ruud has taken me on several excellent outings around Rotterdam, and this tour explores the highlights of these trips.
We will start at Rotterdam Centraal Station then explore some of the city’s most interesting areas like the Katendrecht neighbourhood, Witte de Withstraat, Maas River, Markthal, Cube Houses and Hotel New York.

Less than 30 minutes away from the bustle of Amsterdam is the charming city of Utrecht. Focused around the historic Dom Toren, this beautiful city-center is bisected by a beautiful canal. This two hour tour will explore the charming heart of this longstanding city.
We will meet by the water next to Tivoli Vredenburg then wander the small, winding streets in the center of the city seeing the Oudegracht, Dom Toren, some of the cities hofjes (small courtyard gardens), the Utrecht Letters, Lepelenberg park, and possibly some of the cities weekly markets. This tour even includes a taste of bitterballen - a delicious Dutch snack food.

If you have any special wishes for a tour I am happy to custom make a tour to meet your wishes. Since this requires more research than the regular tours I give the cost will be a bit higher than regular tours, depending on your wishes. Let me know what you would like to see and experience. To make it easier for me to tailor make a tour for you, here are some questions you might want to let me know about:
How long would you like the tour to be?
What would you like to see? Anything particular that interests you (buildings, food, street art etc.)?
Would you like to see more than one city?
Would you be okay with taking public transport to reach certain destinations?
How much would you be willing to pay for a tailor made tour?

All tours are in English (I am from Denver, Colorado, so I am a native English speaker).
Itineraries are not 100% locked, so we can adjust the route if anything comes up.
The maximum group size per tour is 8 people, to keep it small and intimate. But I am also open to guide larger groups.
Private tours are also possible. Contact me to ask for the price.
Tour prices do not include:
transport to/from the tour (unless it is a custom tour over multiple locations)
any food or snacks during the tour
museum entrance tickets (unless specified in a tour description)
